What is a Gathering?

It's good to learn and broaden our knowledge, explore the world we work in and grow.  As facilitators, trainers and coaches we intuitively know it’s important that we grow our skills and capabilities to be in service of our clients.

Gatherings are a place, a space and a time where you can come and learn more about how to be an effective facilitator and trainer. Bring your struggles, your wins and your quests for knowledge… they’ll be facilitated here.

FACILITATORS HAVE ATTENDED AN SOF GATHERING

Why come to a Gathering?

Gatherings are a chance to step out of your day-to-day work and spend time with people who understand the world you work in.

You might come to:

  • meet other facilitators, trainers and coaches
  • explore new tools, ideas or ways of working
  • reflect on your practice
  • talk through challenges in a supportive space
  • leave feeling clearer, more connected and more inspired

Each Gathering will have its own feel, shaped by the host, the place and the people in the room.

We want to make this Gathering accessible for everyone so if you are from a marginalised community eg Global majority, disabled, LGBTQ+, low income, young person then we have an opportunity you might need.

Ellen

"As a new facilitator I found the Gathering to be energising and uplifting. The community has a generous approach to sharing knowledge and experience. I feel like I’ve found my tribe, thank you Kirsty!"

Cat

"I love the SOF gatherings. They give me a chance to reflect, learn and share with other people who are in a similar position to me. I enjoy re-connecting with people I've met before (or only online) and getting the opportunity to meet new people too. Everyone is welcoming, generous with their thoughts and it leaves me feeling refreshed."

Amy

"The gatherings are a highlight of my work calendar. I know whatever the topic, it will be a nourishing session that helps me feel connected and part of a community. Everyone is very supportive and it's great to be surrounded by a wonderful bunch of other facilitators/coaches/trainers."

Join a morning built for curious, generous, like‑minded people. We're creating a space where you can chat, explore, learn something new, and help someone else move forward. No jargon, no pressure – just real conversations about what's working, what's not, and what's possible.

You'll have the chance to:

  • Swap best practice, tools and shortcuts that are genuinely making work easier
  • Bring a challenge you're navigating and let the collective help you see it differently
  • Share a win – something you've fixed, improved, or streamlined that might help someone else
  • Connect with people who get it and want to contribute, not just consume

And because good conversation deserves good hospitality, we'll start with tea and coffee, have some great cakes and healthy snacks along the way and close with how to learn how to make a great cocktail – if you don't already 🙂 along with a sandwich!

Come for the ideas. Stay for the people. Leave with something you can use tomorrow.

A future-back session to create space before the new year really gets moving.

We’ll reflect on what you want 2027 to look and feel like, what matters most to you, and what you want to give your time and energy to over the year ahead.

There’ll also be space to explore the questions, ideas and uncertainties you’re bringing into 2027, so you leave with a clearer sense of where you want to focus next.
