Kirsty Lewis - Founder of SOF
I created SOF as a place for us. As a facilitator I need to connect, learn and share with others and I sense others do to. I create spaces where you can come and learn to resource and nurture you, your teams or business. To be the best version of you whether you are facilitating, leading or selling you have to start with ‘self’
I spent the first 11 years of my working life as a Commercial Manager and then a Global Capability Manager for the worlds #1 drinks business. The next 10 years I focused on training, facilitating and coaching sales and facilitation skills in large FMCG, banks and pharmas all over the world.
In the past I would compromise my needs of learning and developing, quality of sleep, physical activity, emotional balance and friendship all because I wanted to do a fantastic job for my customers, clients or company I worked for.
I have come to realise that to be brilliant in our chosen field where we are the ‘experts’ we have to look after ourselves physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. We need to be more than knowledge experts. It is very easy to forget ourselves as we get caught up in the doing of helping others.

As facilitators, trainers and coaches we are in the business of growth and development. We look to create, deliver and embed solutions for our clients.
WHAT DO SOF DO?
At SOF we recognise how important it is to continually grow and develop your facilitation and training skills, to have a network around you who ‘get it’ and ‘get you’ all whilst building your business.
- Coaching to support you as you transition and grow into the world of training or if you are a fully-fledged facilitator who wants to take stock of what’s going on.
- The SOF quarterly gatherings are a great place to connect, learn and share. A place to grow your network. We are in London, Bristol, Winchester and The Midlands.
- Design & Delivery classes that bring you new ideas, skills and ways to facilitate, train or design.
- SOF Summer School is a space to come and experience all things facilitation and training. Time for you to learn and grow yourself so you shine even brighter with your clients, customers or teams.
MEET YOUR FACILITATOR - Kirsty Lewis
Kirsty is described by many of her former training and coaching students as an energetic, engaging and enthusiastic facilitator. Kirsty has worked as a freelance trainer, coach and facilitator for the past 7 years. She started working life in the drinks industry at Bass Brewers, followed by Guinness then Diageo where she honed her Sales skills and discovered a passion for designing and delivering global capability programmes.
An innate desire to teach has always been part of Kirsty, claims to want to be a PE teacher abound from a young age until a dawning reality that there was more to life than school. Whilst exploring the world of sales and becoming a line manager it became apparent that Kirsty enjoyed the coaching and training element of the job. This led to the move to the Diageo Global sales and capability team and then a short hop into the world of freelance training. Kirstys work has taken her around the world to America, Canada, Europe, China, Asia, Australia, Africa working with clients from CPG/FMCG, Banks, Brewers, Entertainment, Education, Industry and Pharmaceuticals. Since then the desire to share her knowledge and passion on how to manage a workshop, the difficult delegate, the passionate questioner, congruent body language and awesome questions led to the creation of The School of Facilitation.
