September 2022
Knowing others is wisdom.
Knowing the self is enlightenment.
Lao Tsu, Tao Te Ching
The next SOF Gathering will be in-person,
Join us for the day as we explore the world of facilitation and importantly how we facilitate ourselves.
I have always thought that to be a great trainer or facilitator we need to develop ourselves. How can we ask others to sit with us to grow, evolve or learn if we don’t do this ourselves?
Secondly, as Dale Hunter from The Art of Facilitation wrote
“We need to develop our capacity to be and become an embodied, grounded, self-aware and self-reflecting person”
Do you remember your first experiences of personal development? I do.
I read 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey and Who Moved my Cheese by Spencer Johnson within a short space of time to one another.
I literally had ‘aha’s’ and lightbulbs popping all over the place.
Mini epiphanies of ‘OOOhhhh that’s why I do what I do, believe in something or react, get triggered’. It was the first time since university that I wanted to write something down to remember it.
As we all know this is a life journey. Once you start peeling back the proverbial onion skin layers, uncovering the good, the bad and the ugly of yourself it is a journey we cannot stop.
As facilitators and trainers, we look at all parts of our lives – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. This is a holistic journey, one that encompasses every facet
During our time together, we will make space to connect with one another as a community and explore what it means to facilitate ourselves or as the team at Zenergy say “be with yourself”.
We will use various techniques and modalities, from conversations to constellations.
